A stud does not have to be small

Studs are usually the quiet option. They do not have to be. A wide stud occupies as much visual space as a dangler, and it does it without the drop — nothing swings into your neck, nothing catches on a dupatta, and there is nothing to think about when you turn your head.

Wood is what makes that practical. A 4 cm stud in metal would rest its entire weight on a single point of the earlobe. In wood the same piece is a fraction of that, so the size stays comfortable through a whole day.

When a stud is the right answer
