Kadamba is made from Boxwood and Ebony, two of the woods that pass through a Kolkata workshop making parts for musical instruments. The Ebony is the wood of violin fingerboards and tailpieces; the Boxwood is what instrument makers use for fittings and for their own bench tools. Both reach us as offcuts from that work — fully seasoned, dense and stable. Read how the wood gets here.
The kadamba flower is a dense ball of small blooms packed against each other, and the shape here follows it: rounds of equal size pressed together until the gaps between them close, with one sitting at the centre and the rest ringed around it.
The structure is made with inlay. Channels are cut and filled with the second wood, then the whole face is sanded and polished back until everything finishes level — so the lines dividing one round from the next are set into the surface rather than drawn across it. That is what holds the cluster together visually: without them it would read as one lumpy disc.
It is worn as a stud, flat against the lobe, so the whole cluster is visible at once.

Styling ▾
A cluster is busy in a soft way — round shapes rather than angles — which makes these easy lightweight wooden stud earrings for everyday wear despite the detail.
Nothing hangs, so they survive hair worn down and never catch on a dupatta. They also leave the space below the ear free, which makes them the pair to wear with a statement necklace.
Looking after it ▾
- Keep it in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
- Store pieces separately so they do not knock against one another.
- Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
- Avoid perfume, moisturiser, soap and other chemicals.

Free shipping on prepaid orders within India. Dispatch in 2–3 working days; delivery 2–3 days to metro cities and 5–7 days elsewhere in India. Cash on Delivery is available at selected locations with a ₹50 cash-handling charge. We ship worldwide, with import duties and local taxes payable by the recipient.

Are the rounds separate pieces? ▾
The cluster reads as separate rounds because the divisions are inlaid — cut into the surface and filled, then polished back level. The face is smooth to the touch.
Are these studs or danglers? ▾
Studs. The cluster sits flat against the earlobe and nothing hangs below it.
Are wooden stud earrings comfortable for everyday wear? ▾
Yes. The pair weighs about 10 g and a flat stud puts no pull on the lobe at all.
Can I wear a necklace with these? ▾
Yes — these are among the best pairs for it, since nothing hangs into the space above the collarbone.
Will the colour fade? ▾
Wood deepens rather than fades. Kept out of direct sunlight and away from chemicals, both woods darken slightly over the years and hold their polish.
