The dark lines across each star are not printed, burnt or engraved. They are inlay: narrow strips of Ebony cut into channels opened in the Maple, seated, and then sanded and polished back until the two woods finish level with one another. Run a finger across the face and you feel one continuous surface, not a groove.

Inlay is the slowest of the techniques in this range, because the channel and the strip have to meet exactly — too loose and the seam shows, too tight and the wood splits. Getting a line this fine to run clean across a star with four points is genuinely difficult work.

How to style Hanshika Wooden Earrings

Will the Ebony inlay come loose or fall out?

Maple deepens gently towards a warmer honey tone with age and light — a natural process rather than fading. The Ebony stays dark, so the contrast softens very slightly over the years. Keeping the pair out of direct sunlight preserves both.
