What is here

Utsav means celebration. These are the designs we would reach for during Durga Puja, Navratri, Diwali and the run of weddings that follows — warm woods, bold enough to be seen across a room, and light enough to wear from a morning puja through to an evening function.

Why wood for a festive occasion

Two practical reasons beyond the look.

It holds its colour under any light. Metal flares in sunlight and goes flat under warm lamps. Wood does neither — Padauk's red and Boxwood's gold read the same at a daytime function and an evening one.

It stays comfortable. A pair weighs around 10 g. Festive days are long, and a statement earring that aches by the afternoon is one you end up carrying in your bag.

Choosing

  • Against heavy silk and worked borders: plain Ebony, which never competes
  • Against handloom and tussar: Padauk with Boxwood, warm against warm
  • Against embroidery or sequins: keep the earring's surface plain
  • For a full day of functions: a wide stud rather than a dangler — nothing to catch on a dupatta

Yes. Wood reads as craft rather than costume, and the natural grain means no two pairs are alike — which matters at an occasion where everyone is dressed well.

Will they last beyond one season?
