Advika is built in two parts. The lower body runs Maple and Ebony in bands — cream against black, graphic and linear. Above it sits a round loop cut from pale Boxwood, and that circle is what makes the piece.

Straight lines below, a curve above. The round Boxwood top softens the striping in a way a sharp-edged loop would not, so Advika reads as gentler than its banding alone suggests. It is also a third wood in a small piece: Maple, Ebony and Boxwood, each doing a different job.

Every colour here is natural. Nothing is dyed, stained or painted.

Why the round top matters

Curves are harder to cut cleanly in wood than straight edges. A round loop has to hold its line all the way around, and any wobble is obvious against the ruled bands beneath it — the two shapes hold each other to account. Boxwood is the right wood for it: dense, close-grained and almost featureless, so it takes a curve without the grain tearing out and gives a clean pale circle to balance the busier body below.

How is Advika different from Amaya?
The top. Both share a striped Maple-and-Ebony body, but Advika's upper loop is a round Boxwood circle, while Amaya's is a bow shape cut from Ebony. Advika reads softer and paler at the crown; Amaya reads sharper and darker.

How many woods are in Advika?
Three. Boxwood for the round loop, Maple and Ebony for the banded body. Each was chosen for what it does — Boxwood holds a clean curve, Maple gives the pale band its shimmer, Ebony gives the black.

Are the colours natural?
Yes, all three. Nothing is dyed, stained or painted. The cream is Maple, the pale circle is Boxwood, the black is Ebony.

Is the round loop harder to make than a straight edge?
Yes. A curve has to hold its line the whole way round, and against ruled bands any deviation shows immediately. Boxwood is used for it because its dense, close grain takes a curve without tearing.

Please avoid it. Remove them before bathing, swimming or exercising. If they get damp, dry with a soft cloth straight away and let them air fully before storing.

Do pale woods mark easily?
More readily than dark ones, yes. Boxwood and Maple are both pale, so keep Advika away from oils, cosmetics and perfume, and wipe with a dry cloth after wearing.

The design will match. Grain and band widths vary, because three natural woods vary independently. No two pairs are identical.
