✋ Every piece is handcrafted, so we can't accept returns for a change of mind.
A dark bow at the ear, and below it a slim upright bar joined from three woods.
Vrikshi is made from Boxwood, Padauk and Ebony, three of the woods that pass through a Kolkata workshop making parts for musical instruments. The Ebony is the wood of violin fingerboards; the Padauk is the red hardwood from the same bench; the Boxwood is used for fittings and for the makers' own tools. All three reach us as offcuts from that work. Read how the wood gets here.
The upper element is a bow drawn wide and low rather than tied into a knot — it sits across the lobe and gives the piece a broader shoulder than a disc would, before everything narrows into the drop below.
The bar is three separate woods, joined. Strips of each are cut and bonded side by side, then worked back to a single polished face. Every colour on it is a different species at its own natural colour — pale Boxwood, red Padauk, near-black Ebony. Nothing is stained, dyed or painted.
Wide at the top, narrow all the way down: it is the most vertical piece in the range, and the proportion is what makes a long drop sit close to the jaw rather than swinging away from it.

Styling ▾
Three wood tones in one narrow drop make these adaptable lightweight wooden earrings for daily wear — there is a colour in the bar to pick up most outfits, and the shape is slim enough for a working day.
Hair up suits the bow, which sits close to the lobe where it can be seen.
Looking after it ▾
- Keep it in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight — Padauk's red deepens with light exposure.
- Keep it dry — take it off before washing or swimming.
- Store pieces separately so they do not knock against one another.
- Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
- Avoid perfume, moisturiser, soap and other chemicals.

Are the colours painted or stained? ▾
Neither. Each band is a different wood at its own natural colour — Boxwood pale gold, Padauk deep red, Ebony near-black. Nothing is dyed or painted.
How are the woods held together? ▾
They are cut and joined side by side, then sanded and polished back to one continuous face.
Are these comfortable for daily wear? ▾
Yes. The pair weighs about 10 g and the drop is narrow, so there is nothing broad to swing or catch.
Which three woods are these? ▾
Boxwood, Padauk and Ebony — the pale, the red and the black, all from the same instrument workshop.
Will the colours change over time? ▾
Slightly. Padauk deepens most, the others a little. Kept out of direct sunlight the piece ages evenly and holds its polish.
