Trinetra is cut from a single wood. There is no inlay, no banding, no painted colour and no second species for contrast. The whole design rests on one decision: rotating the middle square forty-five degrees against the two around it.

Why one wood is the harder choice

Most jewellery earns its interest from contrast — a pale wood against a dark one, a colour against a neutral. Trinetra has none of that to fall back on. Every element is the same near-black Ebony, so the only things doing any work are the shapes, their order, and the way light moves across a polished surface.

Ebony is unusually well suited to this. It is dense enough that the grain all but disappears, which is why a plain Ebony shape reads as pure form rather than as a piece of timber. Polished, it holds a deep gloss that catches a highlight along each bevelled edge — so as the earring turns, the three squares light up one after another.

How to style Trinetra Wooden Earrings

With a saree. Black is the one jewellery colour that never argues with a drape. Trinetra is particularly strong against reds, maroons and deep jewel tones, where the length reads clearly, and equally at home on cream, off-white and black-bordered handlooms. Wear the hair back — the design needs its full length visible.

With a kurta or Anarkali. Keep the fabric plain. Solid black, white, ivory, indigo or wine lets the three squares stay legible as three separate shapes rather than merging into one dark mass.

With western wear. A white shirt, a black dress, denim, linen, a co-ord set. This is the most outfit-agnostic pair in the range, because it introduces no colour at all.

Why is the middle square turned differently?

It is the whole design. Two squares sit on their points, and the one between them is set flat, rotated forty-five degrees against its neighbours. That single rotation stops three identical shapes from reading as a repeated pattern and turns them into a sequence instead.

Are these long earrings?

Yes. Three linked elements make Trinetra one of the longer designs in the range, and it is best worn with the hair tied back or tucked, so the full drop is visible.

Is Ebony a heavy wood — will these pull on my ears?

Ebony is dense, and Trinetra carries three elements rather than one or two, so it is a more substantial pair than most in the range. It remains a fraction of what the same design would weigh in metal, and the elements are thin.

Do black earrings go with everything?

Close to it. Black introduces no colour to argue with an outfit, which makes this the easiest pair in the range to wear without planning. It is the one to reach for when you do not yet know what you will be wearing.

Are wooden earrings durable enough for regular wear?
