A dark round at the ear, and below it a narrow boat-shaped drop banded in Maple and Padauk.
Timberi is made from Maple, Padauk and Ebony, three of the woods that pass through a Kolkata workshop making parts for musical instruments. The Maple is the pale wood of violin backs and necks; the Padauk is the red hardwood from the same bench; the Ebony is the black wood of fingerboards. All three reach us as offcuts from that work. The drop is built from joined woods. Strips are cut and bonded one against the next, then shaped into the curve and polished back as one piece — the bands are joins between species rather than marks on a surface.
What sets this pair apart from our other banded boats is the proportion: the drop is cut narrower and shallower, so it sits closer under the lobe instead of spreading wide. The result is a piece with the same warmth as the broader shapes but a quieter outline.
Maple rather than Boxwood gives it a cooler pale tone, which sharpens the contrast with the Padauk beside it.

Styling ▾
Warm colour in a restrained shape — these are statement wooden earrings for festive wear that do not take over an outfit. They sit as well with a cotton saree in daylight as with silk in the evening.
The narrower drop also means they stay visible with hair worn down, where a broad boat would be covered.
Looking after it ▾
- Keep it in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight — Padauk's red deepens with light exposure.
- Keep it dry — take it off before washing or swimming.
- Store pieces separately so they do not knock against one another.
- Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
- Avoid perfume, moisturiser, soap and other chemicals.

Free shipping on prepaid orders within India. Dispatch in 2–3 working days; delivery 2–3 days to metro cities and 5–7 days elsewhere in India. Cash on Delivery is available at selected locations with a ₹50 cash-handling charge. We ship worldwide, with import duties and local taxes payable by the recipient.

Are the colours painted or stained? ▾
Neither. Each band is a different wood at its own natural colour — Maple pale, Padauk red, Ebony black.
Are the bands laid on the surface? ▾
No. They are joins. Separate pieces of wood are bonded together, then the drop is shaped and polished back as one piece.
