Harini is made from Boxwood and Ebony, two of the woods that pass through a Kolkata workshop making parts for musical instruments. The Ebony is the wood of violin fingerboards and tailpieces; the Boxwood is what instrument makers use for fittings and for their own bench tools. Both reach us as offcuts from that work — fully seasoned, dense and stable. Read how the wood gets here.
This is the most restrained piece in the range. A plain circle, a plain bar, and two dark lines running the length of it — nothing carved, nothing engraved, no pattern to read. The bar has straight sides and a flat base rather than tapering to a point, which gives it an upright, deliberate quality.
Two lines is a decision, not a shortage. Add a third and the bar becomes striped; leave it at two and the eye reads the pale bands between them as the subject and the black as the frame. It is the difference between a pattern and a proportion.

Styling ▾
The quietest pair here, and the easiest to wear to work. There is no ornament to clash with anything, so it goes with a printed saree as comfortably as with a plain shirt.
The upright bar also sits well under hair worn down — it is narrow enough not to be swallowed, where a wide disc would be.
Looking after it ▾
- Keep it in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
- Store pieces separately so they do not knock against one another.
- Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
- Avoid perfume, moisturiser, soap and other chemicals.
Delivery and returns ▾
Free shipping on prepaid orders within India. Dispatch in 2–3 working days; delivery 2–3 days to metro cities and 5–7 days elsewhere in India. Cash on Delivery is available at selected locations with a ₹50 cash-handling charge. We ship worldwide, with import duties and local taxes payable by the recipient.

Are the dark lines painted on? ▾
No. They are Ebony, a wood that is black on its own. Because the line is wood rather than ink, it cannot wear off or fade with handling.
Can I wear these to the office every day? ▾
Yes — this is the pair in the range best suited to it. There is no ornament to catch on anything and nothing loud about the shape.
Will they be heavy on my ears? ▾
The pair weighs about 10 g. You will stop noticing them within a few minutes of putting them on.
Which woods are these? ▾
Boxwood and Ebony. Both colours are the woods' own — nothing is stained or dyed.
Will the colour fade? ▾
Wood deepens rather than fades. Kept out of direct sunlight and away from chemicals, both woods darken slightly over the years and hold their polish.
